Guide To Cataclysm Mounts

This is a guide to explain the new mount's within the Cataclysm Expansion. Over 20 mounts have been added, below I will explain how to find, earn or otherwise acquire all of the new Cataclysm mounts!.

Achievements: (These mounts can only be obtained through the completion of an achievement.)

Golden King Or Kor'Kron Annihilator-
Ground Mount. These mounts can be purchased for 1,200 Gold upon your Guild reaching Level 25.
These mounts are in my opinion the coolest in the expansion as they just look fantastic. Not easily obtainable as for your guild to reach level 25 it will take some time and alot of team work. Also you must be exalted with your guild to be able to purchase the mount. The math suggests that it will take 137 days (or 4.5 months) of hitting your guild's daily experience cap in order to reach guild level 25.

Volcanic Stone Drake-
Flying mount. Awarded by completion of the achievement Glory of the Cataclysm Hero which requires you to complete every Heroic dungeon at least once (for Cataclysm Dungeon Hero) but to complete a number of challenging achievements in those Heroics.

Drake of the East Wind-
Flying mount. Awarded by completion of the achievement Glory of the Cataclysm Raider which requires you to clear all of Blackwing Descent, Throne of the Four Winds and The Bastion of Twilight, completing various achievements along the way and also requires a defeat of each boss on its Heroic difficulty mode as-well.

Dark Phoenix-
Flying mount. Available to be purchased for 3000g after completion of the guild achievement Guild Glory of the Cataclysm Raider which requires you to clear Blackwing Descent, Throne of the Four Winds and The Bastion of Twilight while in a guild group. In order to qualify and receive credit for these objectives, your raid must be comprised of at least 8/10 or 20/25 guild members. You can tell that you are in a group that qualifies for guild achievements by checking for your Guild Tabard up near your minimap. Upon completion the achievement, you will be able to purchase this mount from your faction's guild vendor.

Rare Drops:

Drake of the South Wind-
Flying mount. This is a Rare drop from Al'Akir in Throne of The Four Winds, has a low 1-2% drop rate.

Drake of the North Wind-
Flying mount. Rare drop from Altairus in The Vortex Pinnacle in both Normal and Heroic difficulty modes also has a 1-2% drop rate.

Vitreous Stone Drake-
Flying mount. Drops from Slabhide in The Stonecore again this is very rare 1-2% drop rate. (sweet colors on this mount)

Phosphorescent Stone Drake-
Flying mount. Guaranteed drop from Aeonaxx in Deepholm. Aeonaxx spawns near the Quartzite Basin and will fly to and around the Temple of Earth. If you find him, you must mount him and kill him before getting overwhelmed by his whelp adds! If you are successful, the mount will be yours.

Grey Riding Camel-
Ground Mount. Drops from Dormus the Camel-Hoarder in The Steam Pools. By seeking out Mysterious Camel Figurine, small statues found hidden in the sands of Uldum. Some of these statues are too damaged and will crumble into dust, but if you find the right one, prepare to get whisked away to The Steam Pools above Feralas, where you must defeat Dormus the Camel-Hoarder.

Reputation:

Brown Riding Camel-
Ground Mount. Purchasable for 80g upon reaching exalted with the Ramkahen. This camel mount is one of two that will become available to be purchased from Blacksmith Abasi once Exalted with the Ramkahen. Reputation with Ramkahen by completing quests in Uldum, wearing the Tabard of the Ramkahen in level 85 dungeons, and completing the single daily quest offered by the faction. Buying one of these mounts will even earn you an achievement, One Hump or Two?! so you get a nice shiny new mount and an achievement

Tan Riding Camel-
Ground Mount. Purchasable for 80g upon reaching exalted with Ramkahen. (info above)

Spectral Wolf Or Spectral Steed-
Ground Mount. Purchasable for 165 Tol Barad Commendation upon reaching Exalted with Hellscream's Reach (Horde) or Baradin's Wardens (Alliance). Once you have reached Exalted, you can purchase one of these mounts from your faction's quartermaster, Pogg for Horde, Quartermaster Brazie for Alliance. For 165 Told Barad Commendation a new battleground currency awarded by completing objectives / winning in Tol Barad.

Drake of the West Wind WoW Mount Flying Fastest Tol Barad

Drake of the West Wind-
Flying mount. Purchasable for 200 Tol Barad Commendations upon reaching Exalted with Hellscream's Reach or Baradin's Wardens.

Goblin Trike Mount World of Warcraft

Goblin Trike and Goblin Turbo-Trike-
Ground Mount. Purchasable for 80s or 8g upon reaching Exalted with Bilgewater Cartel. The new Bilgewater Cartel faction mount is available to goblins by default and every other Horde race upon reaching Exalted with the Cartel. Horde players can use the Bilgewater Cartel Tabard to earn reputation.

Archaeology:

Fossil Fossilized Raptor Archeology Mount

Fossilized Raptor-
Ground Mount. Must randomly discover and complete the Fossilized Raptor rare Fossil archaeology project. Upon surveying at a fossil dig site, you have a chance to randomly discover this rare artifact and must collect enough Fossil Archaeology Fragment (100) to complete the project. Upon assembling the project you will create a Fossilized Raptor!

Ultramarine Qiraji Battle Tank-
Ground Mount. Must randomly discover and complete the Scepter of Azj'Aqir rare Tol'vir archaeology project. Upon surveying at a Tol'vir digsite, you have a chance to randomly discover this rare artifact and must collect enough Tol'vir Archaeology Fragment (150) to complete the project. Thankfully, this artifact has three keystone slots which means you can use 3 Tol'vir Hieroglyphic towards completion of the artifact, which counts as a whopping 36 Tol'vir Archaeology Fragment! Upon assembling the project you will create a Scepter of Azj'Aqir!

Miscellaneous:

Sandstone Drake Mount 310 WoW Craft Flying

Sandstone Drake-
Flying Passenger Shapeshift. This BOE mount can only be crafted by a skilled Alchemist upon learning the Pattern, which can be found inside a Canopic Jar. First, you have to be an archaeologist and you have to get lucky and find fragments of a Canopic Jar. Upon collecting the appropriate amount of Tol'vir Archaeology Fragment you will be able to complete the jar, and then open it. If you're lucky (again) it will contain a Recipe: Vial of the Sands, which can be learned with 525 Alchemy skill. Once you've learned to craft it, you then need to acquire the (costly) reagents. This is one of the most expensive items to craft, requiring vendor items totaling 29,000g and a number of flasks and other alchemy created materials.

Abyssal Seahorse World of Warcraft

Abyssal Seahorse-
Aquatic mount. Rewarded upon completion of The Abyssal Ride in Kelp'thar Forest. A necessity for questing, gathering or otherwise doing anything underwater in Vashj'ir, and as such is easily obtained as a quest reward after completing a chain of introductory quests upon arriving at Kelp'thar Forest. Unfortunately, this mount can only be used in Vashj'ir.

Mottled Drake How to Get WoW

Mottled Drake-
Flying mount. Obtained via redeeming loot card code from WoW Trading Card Game's Worldbreaker Expansion. Same model as other drakes with just a new coat, look's ok. Not amazing. Though it'll no doubt be substantially rare.

I hope this helped to clear things up with how the new mounts are obtained and where they come from.

WOW: Farming Consortium Reputation Quickly

I recommend doing this between level 80 and 85. The main benefit of reaching exalted with Consortium is once a month you can go pickup a bag of gems in Nagrand, Membership Benefits . The green gems inside the bag go for a nice amount at the moment due to the popularity of people power leveling Jewel Crafting. Using this it is possible to grind the whole way in a single dungeon.

Directions:
1. Enter Mana-tombs (Be sure to select Heroic Mode)

2. Clear everything apart from the last boss (Or just skip everything, but since ur farming rep anyway, its smart just killing everything you see.)
3. Engage the boss, but DO NOT attack him. He will spawn adds every 20-30 seconds.
4. Just go afk for some minutes, kill the adds and repeat : )

The adds give 22+ rep if you have the 10% rep increase from the guild perk.

WOW: Solo the Whale Shark in Vashj'ir Achievement

I did this as a Fire Mage, but any class with mobile DPS should be able to do this

First thing you must get is a Range mod, something which tells you how far away the target is. The Whale Shark is so big it's almost impossible to guess. I used RangeFinder from Curse, this is crude, but it works.

Next you need patience, I tried searching for that but got bored and annoyed so I stopped.

The Whale Shark swims very slowly, you can outrun him by swimming backwards (can you see where this is going?) You must stay between 5 and 20 Yards away. If he hits you, he will 1-shot you! I think on my first attempt he hit me for about 500k.

The biggest risks here are

1. Going out of Range
2. Getting hit
3. Changing zones and him resetting*

(*This happened to me once, I didn't tempt fate by testing it again)

Okay, what you need to basically do is, pull him, keep him between 5 and 20 yards and DPS. I kept Nespirah to the side of me and used it as a reference for turning. Be very careful with turning, he will catch up if you turn too sharp. This will be a long fight, it took me 20 minutes but my gear isn't amazing.

I kept spamming Scorch (obviously while moving with talents) Living Bomb, Flame Orb, Fireblast, Hot Streak and Time-Warp. I averaged 7k DPS for this fight, like I said my gear isn't amazing, but it proves it can be done.

* Don't use Mirror Image
* Don't Ice Block
* Hunters make sure your pet has basically 0 aggro
* Stay away from the surface

The only reason to stay away from the surface is because it screwed my camera up!

Keep swimming backwards and watch your range, you should get him with no problems

Good luck and Have fun

WOW: Killing Diseased Vulture 2,000 Gold / Hour

Cataclysm is still new so the Auction House prices are still really high.I found a new way to make a pretty decent amount of gold by killing birds in Uldum. They have about 10k life, so should go down quickly.

The item your gonna farm is Delicate Wing, it has a really high drop rate. They sell for 13gold on my server right now.

I was able to farm all this in just one hour of work
132x Delicate Wing,
216 Gold in Grey Items
And a few greens i wont count into this, since it can be luck.

The reason why this item is so expensive right now is cause its used for Broiled Dragon Feast (The new feast in cataclysm, until we get another one)

WOW: Level 15-20 In Less Than an Hour (Hillsbrad Foothills)

At the location in the picture, in southern Hillsbrad Foothills, Level 19-20 ghouls are continuously spawning at that spot. They have about 500 Health and can quickly go down with some AoE. Between 1-5 Ghouls spawn every 5 seconds, so you'll have a hard time running out. Have fun before it gets hotfixed.

WOW: Level Archaeology Faster with Troll Bug

Currently there is a bug I noticed with troll archaeology which will help with leveling Archaeology quickly. As we all know recently they buffed archaeology which gives 3x (15 points) the level up on rares found. So far Troll only has 1 rare which is the epic weapon  Zin'rokh, Destroyer of Worlds. I've noticed that when you get to Zandalari Voodoo Doll which is a common item it also gives you 15 points and only cost you 27 fragments. Just stay in Eastern Kingdoms and you will level archaeology much quicker.

The one that is in bold is the one that also gives you 15 points. Also listed is how many fragments are needed for each item to give you an idea of how fast troll takes to solve.

Common tier Troll items: 14 common items
Zandalari Voodoo Doll - 27 fragments
Fetish of Hir'eek - 30 fragments
Eerie Hakkari Idol - 35 fragments
Lizard Foot Charm - 32 fragments
Jade Asp with Ruby Eyes - 35 fragments
Feathered Gold Earring - 34 fragments
Cinnabar Bijou - 35 fragments
Atal'ai Scepter - 35 fragments
Gahz'rilla Figurine - 35 fragments
Skull-Shaped Planter - 35 fragments
Bracelet of Jade and Coins - 35 fragments
Drakkari Sacrificial Knife - 35 fragments
Tooth with Gold Filling - 35 fragments
Fine Bloodscalp Dinnerware - 32 fragments

NOTE: After you downgrade, run WoW.exe(windows) or World of Warcraft(mac).  NEVER RUN THE LAUNCHER.

Step 1: Uninstall World of Warcraft.
Windows: Go to your control panels and open Add or Remove Programs. Once that opens, locate World of Warcraft and click the remove button.

*If you don't get ALL of the expansions before this guide, it will not work.
Windows: Run the disk to install the original World of Warcraft, or download & run InstallWoW(Windows), select "World of Warcraft" from the scroll-down list, and click "install"

*To manually install patches, download the file, drag it into your World of Warcraft folder, and launch it.
*After it's done updating, the launcher will open automatically. Close it QUICK before it starts updating patches automatically.
*You have to download & install the patches in order.
*On macs, you have to unzip the file before placing it into your World of Warcraft folder (you can do so by double clicking on the .zip folder)

WOW: Queue for Low Level Dungeons at 85

Alright. Me and some friends of mine were doing heroics back at 80, and we discovered a nifty trick. I was in Scarlet Monastery killing a few mobs for fun, and a queue popped. We did the heroic like normal, and everybody but us left the group. I teleported out of dungeon, and it placed me back in SM. However, all of the mobs were reset, so I decided to kill one. We invited a guild mate to our group, but they were already in a group, so WoW saw it as if it were a 'decline' to join the group. It then asked us if we would like to find more players for "Scarlet Monastery - Cathedral", and we accepted, thinking it was just a visual bug. However, once it paired us with our group members, we realized that they were, in fact, the appropriate level for Scarlet Monastery.

Steps to reproduce this bug:

1. Queue for a random dungeon/heroic. (WITH A FRIEND WHO IS ON YOUR SERVER)
2. Finish the dungeon (or trick everyone except you and a friend into leaving).
3. When you finish, make sure you and your friend both stay in the group.
4. Teleport out, and make your way to the low level dungeon of your choice: Stockades, Deadmines (Deadmines and SFK MAY not work, due to them having a heroic difficulty. This can be bypassed by queuing for a normal, not a heroic), RFC, etc.
5. Go into the portal, kill any mob, and zone back out.
6. Invite someone to your group, but have them decline the invitation. This can be done by inviting someone who is already in a group, or inviting someone after you tell them to decline the incoming invitation
7. A window should show up asking if you want to find more players for your group, press yes.

Mysterious Camel Figurine Rare Mount Guide

With Cataclysm there is a new Rare Mount called Reins of the Grey Riding Camel - Item - World of Warcraft . You can get it from Dormus the Camel-Hoarder - NPC - World of Warcraft but he doesnt just spawn and you can kill him, you need to be 1. lucky and 2. persistent.

How to get to Dormus:

In Uldum there are few Mysterious Camel Figurine - NPC - World of Warcraft , they are as small as a critter and look like a normal camel. If you find one you can loot it and have a 5% chance to get ported to Steampools in Feralas where Dormus will spawn and you have ~20 Minutes to kill him (he has roughly 225k HP, so most of you can solo him). the other 95% the camel will fall to dust and you can loot Crumbled Statue Remnants - Item - World of Warcraft. It sells for 25g to the vendor, so a little solace for not getting ported.

How to find the little Camels:

There are 2 Methods which I will explain:

1. Oldschool -> Macro

Just create a macro with "/target Mysterious Camel Figurine" while you fly over Uldum. I would not recommend this method since u need to press your macro all the time. a good addition to the standart target macro would be:

Code:
/target Mysterious Camel Figurine
/stopmacro [noexists]
/script PlaySoundFile("Sound\Creature\Ragnaros\Ragnaros Slay01.wav")
So you will hear if you find it.

2. The Addon -> NPCScan

This Addon is used for finding Raremobs without needing for everyone a macro. You will need to add the NPC ID of the Figurine which is:
Code:
50410 and 50409
You can download it here: http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-a...s/npcscan.aspx

The Spawn Locations:

If you look at the map you can see some spawnpoints, but I don't believe thats all.

I marked the two areas which you should check if you fly your laps (I didn't find any figurines there but i only search for 2 days now). If someone finds a figurine in the areas please let me know with coordinates and i will edit it in.

Dont give up if you wont find any at your first lap, there are some theories about the spawn which you can read in the comment section of wowhead (Mysterious Camel Figurine - NPC - World of Warcraft). Some things i can acknowledge:

1) Sometimes there is no single spawn in whole uldum, So there needs to be a Respawn Timer (24 hours or higher?)

2) There can be only one spawn in all Uldum (tested and seems to be true, I found one but didn't loot it and flew some more laps to see if there was another.)

And some screenshots:

As you can see its really tiny.

WOW: Skinnin' for a Livin Guild Achievement Exploit

Skinnin' for a Livin is the Guild Achievement to skin 10,000 mobs.
This can be done semi AFK or with completely AFK with a button pusher. The mob will despawn eventually but you can get another one and spam your key to skin the new one.
I Tried this on grey mobs and it works as well, so I guess you can make a new char, learn skinning and get to work.

1) Go to your profession tab (P > Professions), grab your [Skinning] ability and put it somewhere on your hotbar.
2) Disable autoloot in the interface options menu.
3) Kill some monster you can skin and loot it.
4) Target the corpse and use your [Skinning] ability over and over.

WOW: The Ultimate 1-525 Archeology Guide

Archeology, the new skill of Cataclysm. Verry time-consuming. In this guide im going to sum up everything about this proffesion!

Archeology allows you to dig artifacts out of the ground, when used, they will mostly result in common items, and occasionaly in Epics/Rares!

There Will be 4 digsites per continent!

1-100
When leveling your skill from 1-100 you will want to safe all the artifacts you dig. Caus when you are 100 you will not gain any more skills for digging!
From level 1-100 you can dig: Night Elf, Troll, Dwarf, and Fossil artifacts.
Found in: Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor.

100-300

You are in for a long grind now, use the artifacts saved from leveling 1-100.
There is not much to say about this long grind, i would suggest Eastern Kingdoms to dig, because of it being smaller then Kalimdor, and the spawn locations seem to be closer to eachother!

300-375

You can now Survey in Outlands. Digging up: Draenei and Orc artifacts.

375-450

You can now Surver in Northrend! Digging up: Nerubian and Vrykul Artifacts!

450-525

Here is where it gets interesting, you can now dig up Tol'Vir artifacts in Uldum! The dig sites in Uldum share the continent of Kalimdor. So you'll need to dig all arround Kalimdor in order to dig in Uldum!

How does Archeology work?

Upon learning Archeology you gain 2 skills: Survey, and Archeology (Tab).
You use Survey on locations shown on the map (With a shovel, and red area in the zone)
When using Survey, you'll place a spy-glass with a light on it.
Red: Indicates the Artifact is far away.
Yellow: You are getting closer, but its still a few yards.
Green: You are close , it is within 20 yards.
The direction of the spyglass tells you where the artifact is.
To make artifacts, go to your archeology tab, and press the race you have artifacts from (For example Dwarf). You can see you need (Lets say 30) artifacts to complete solve this item. Just gather the 30 artifacts, and solve it.
When solved, a new item should pop up. This can be Rare/Epic or Common item.

Keystones

There are multiple keystones available, found while digging. They can complete some artifacts by up to 12 fragments, but is also used for daily quests. Artifacts have from 0 to 3 slots for these keystones. All rare/epic artifacts have 3 keystone slots, except Fossilized Hatchling and Fossilized Raptor, caus there are no fossil keystones!

To finish it off, here are some percentages for artifacts:

Dwarf:
86% of the projects are common items (25 total), 10% are Rare (3 total), and one Epic Weapon 2H Staff (3%) Project.

Fossil:
82% are common items (9 total), 18% are Rare (One pet, One Mount).

Night Elf:
73% are common items (19 total), 23% are Rare (6 total), and one Epic Cloth Chest (4%) Project.

Troll:
93% are common items (14 total), with one Epic 2H Sword (7%) Project.

Draenei (Outland Only):
80% are common items (8 total), 20% are Rare (2 total).

Orc (Outland Only):
90% are common items (9 total), and one Epic Mail Head (10%) Project.

Vrykul (Northrend Only):
83% are common items (5 total), and one Epic 1H Axe (17%) Project.

Nerubian (Northrend Only):
78% are common items (7 total), with two Epic Usable Item (12%) Projects.

Tol'Vir (Cataclysm Only):
54% are common items (7 total), with 6 Epic Projects (46%), including one pet, one mount, one 1H Sword, one ring, one 2H Staff, and one usable item.

Have fun, and feel free to ask any questions!

WOW: Easy Time To Open A Restaurant Guild Achievement Exploit

The " Time to Open a Restaurant " achievement currently requires for a guild to cook 10,000 Cataclysm meals and it awards 20 guild points.

Currently mage conjured food counts toward the achievement. With every 20 Conjured mana cake that you create you will get +20 foods towards the achievement. With few mages from the guild you will get this achievement in no time.

This macro could be quite useful if you wanna do the achivement for the guild while afking with a click macro or something

Just create a macro with the following:

/run for bag = 0, 4 do for slot = 1, GetContainerNumSlots(bag) do local name = GetContainerItemLink(bag, slot) if name and string.find(name,"Conjured Mana Cake") then PickupContainerItem(bag, slot) DeleteCursorItem() end end end

WOW: Max Skinning In Minutes

On the quest Big Game, Big Bait you can use the quest item Mylra's Knife on the Basilisks before you skin them and then skin the remaining pile of bones over and over again. You don't get any leather, but your skill keeps going up. The only catch is that you cant skin the same remains twice in a row. You have to keep moving back and forth between several of them (works on other people kills too). I went from 489 to 525 in about 2 min.

WOW: Win Tol Barad without Joining the Battle

Tol Barad is a ravaged island kingdom in Baradin Bay, between Hasic and the shores of Khaz Modan. The Tol Barad zone plays out like Wintergrasp. There are seven discrete points of interest, with Baradin Hold at the center of the island and three destroyable towers and three capturable buildings surrounding it. If you run across the bridge from the peninsula right before the battle ends you can still get credit for a win without having to join the battle.

WOW: Amazing Pickpocketing Location

If you want to farm Flame-Scarred Junkboxes for a chance at BoE epics, I found an amazing place today. In north-east Deepholm, at the Verlok Stand, there are a ton of mining troggs wandering around on a ledge. Every mob is Humanoid and I had 10 Junkboxes in half a lap around.

The mobs are packed very tight and you need to be extra careful. I have a "Picksap" macro that will sap the closest target and pick it's pockets. I know there are fancier pickpocketing macros around but I like the one I made, sapping the current target is nice for manuevering around on the crowded bridges.

Fortunately, Blizzard announced that they are removing the requirement to discover the entrances to pre-Cataclysm dungeons. If you want to run a few dungeons while you quest to break up your routine, here is a quick guide to where all of the instances are.

Blackrock Caverns (80-83)

Blackrock Caverns (BRC) is a new wing located inside Blackrock Mountain. Deathwing created a series of tunnels from the Twilight Highlands to Blackrock Mountain. Here you will fight the Twilight’s Hammer clan who have started using the tunnels as a transport route for supplies to the Twilight Highlands and a location to practice their dark arts.

BRC is a 5-man dungeon designed for level 80-81 players but will be available in your Dungeon Finder until level 83. From the Searing Gorge entrance into Blackrock Mountain, you make a right. Enter the next gate on your right and you will see a bonfire and broken crates. Make a right and you should see the instance portal.

If you are running it for the first time, do not forget to pick up the quest from the gnome on the far left. When I first zoned in, no exclamation mark was visible on my mini-map or over his head.

Thrones of the Tides (80-83)

Thrones of the Tides (TotT) is a 5-man dungeon designed for level 80-81 players but will be available in your Dungeon Finder until level 83. Deep in the Abyssal Depths in Vashj’ir, there is a huge whirlpool. Swim into the whirlpool and after a bit of delay you will get pulled into the whirlpool. You will fall into a chamber with two entrances. The one right in front of you is the TotT entrance.

If you have not done the starting quest in Vashj’ir yet and received your Sea Legs you may not make it down to the whirlpool alive. I had my Sea Legs already. If someone else has tried to swim down without Sea Legs, please share.

To get out of the Abyssal Maw chamber, talk to Wavespeaker Valoren <The Earthen Ring> standing between the TotT entrance and the summoning stone. She will send you back to Vashj’ir.

The Stonecore (81-85)

Within the Temple of Earth, locked in the heart of Deepholm, lies The Stonecore (SC). It was inside this mysterious domain that the Twilight’s Hammer toiled over Deathwing, hammering elementium plates to the Dragon Aspect’s skin to hold his tormented body together. It was also here that Deathwing began his ascent into Azeroth, shattering the fabled World Pillar and destabilizing the entire region of Deepholm.

SC is a 5-man dungeon designed for level 82-83 players but will be available in your LFG until level 85. To get to SC, go to Deepholm and exit Temple of Earth. From the Temple of Earth doorway, make a right and look for the second rock formation around the temple. Fly two-thirds up the Temple of Earth and you will see the entrance. From the graveyard, turn towards the mountain then fly up and left.
